Discusses Sprint buying up MCI (formerly Worldcom).
That would be ironic.
You may recall MCI Worldcom tried to buy Sprint back in 1999, when it
would have cost Worldcom $129 Billion. Today Sprint could be bought for
under $26 Billion with its lower stock price.
The Federal Government refused to allow the buy up go through.
At current stock prices, MCI is worth $4.52 Billion, certainly something
Sprint could afford either by a stock swap, or an Investment Banking
Deal.
