When I was on Windows 7 and 8.1 I had no problem with selecting a folder of images from the personalise part of the settings, and have them change as a slideshow every half hour for my wallpaper. However, now on Windows 10, I can't activate the feature for some reason. Link 1 is a screenshot of the folder I use already selected yet the PC won't activate them and keeps the single wallpaper for use. Link 2 is me searching for the images in the folder, but they're not displayed as I just explained for link 1. In Link 3, is a screenshot of me searching for the folder independently (not through personalisation settings), and all the images are there as you should see. So I'd like some help on what I could do if anyone has ideas. The images are a mix of jpeg and png, but none show up anyway. Thank you :) Naicheervan

I think the settings have just changed a bit between Windows 7/8 and 10. IIRC in Windows 7 and 8 you selected the images inside of a folder that you wanted to see in the slideshow, in Windows 10, however, you only select the folder. That is the reason you don't see any images in the folder-selection dialog in your second screenshot, Windows 10 just selects all images inside that folder.
Have you actually tried right clicking your desktop an selecting "Next wallpaper" or waiting for 30 minutes to see if the wallpaper changes? For me everything looks correctly configured and on my system it works just fine :)

I took your advice to an extent, by right-clicking on my desktop, and selecting personalise>change 1min (to test it). What do you know, it worked! I tried the exact same thing earlier but direct from settings rather than doing the right click method but it didn't work which is strange 😛. Ah well, it works now, so thank you!! 😀

I'm having the same issue but it DOESN'T work when I right-click and try to change to the next background. I have it set to change once a day and it just sits on the Windows 10 background.

For my upgrade from Windows 7 Pro, I just discovered that the old "Choose your desktop background" interface is executed when you run (win+r) "control /name Microsoft.Personalization /page pageWallpaper". More significantly, I was able to select a Library folder - which means I can still have my pictures organized in a hierarchy of folders and aggregate the folders with pictures into a Library for the desktop slideshow. And I can have the picture change every 10 seconds.

I just solved this issue myself, go to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\

Now you should see a file called transcodedwallpaper. rename it to transcodedwallpaper.jpg and it should work. Mine was initially just called transcodedwallpaper.file
