Hello everyone, I'm kind of new here but recently I've been having a few issues with my computer.
Last year around December I upgraded my system quite extensively from and old box running windows 7 to what I have now which is a stretch better (except for my gpu), and I am currently running windows 10.

[Explanation] Ever since upgrading, very often when I turn on my computer (sometimes minutes after it has started up, and sometimes after a long period of use) my wallpaper/background will begin to turn completely black. Often times it periodically changes, and other times it just instantaneously turns completely black. Here is a picture of what I mean:

Dragging the cursor and highlighting an area blacks out that part of the background and the only quick way to fix it is to restart my computer. Otherwise it may or may not return to normal after a while and/or then the same thing happens.

The second issue I've been having is random crashes. I don't recall any happening when I've just been using my computer to browse the net or whatnot, I think they've only ever happened while I've been in a game. Since the upgrade of hardware and operating system, my computer has the tendency to randomly bluescreen with the SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION error message. I don't know how to get the dump files but event viewer lists it as Kernel-Power Event 41.

Specs:
I am using a completely clean install of windows 10 on a new ssd. I had the hard drive from my old computer connected to this one previously, but recently bought a new ssd because I thought it may have been the problem being so old, but it is still happening.
Everything from my old computer has been replaced except my graphics card.

Intel i5 6600k @ 3.5GHz
Asus z170 AR Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 RAM (2x4GB)
Seagate 2TB Barracuda (storage)
Samsung 850 Evo 250gb SSD (os drive)
GTX 760

Also running 2 monitors.
Any help with these issues is greatly appreciated. :)

Solution
1| Were you on an upgrade installation of Windows 10 on your old hardware specs?
2| Is this installation of Windows 10 off the licence key or are you using your previous activation key(bundled with your free upgrade)?
3| Have you made sure your BIOS and remaining device drivers are up to date? For your GPU, are you running off the latest from Nvidia? If you're reinstalling your GPU drivers, follow through with this guide. Revert to an older driver if the latest version is causing the issue.
4| Speaking of drivers, disable the automatic device drivers update feature.
5| You can also try a repair install and see if the issue is alleviated.
