The second build will perform better because of the better cpu which I would recommend getting.

Your Build is overall good but the PSU is BAD .

Your right, I went ahead and changed the PSU in the build

Here's my shot at the most power possible for under $550:

If you are wanting to overclock get a more expensive PSU (at this price point it's not really worth it as you'll also need a CPU cooler), but otherwise this will squeeze all the performance possible out of your budget.

Dont recommend a 450 watt PSU for r9 280 the minimum requirement for r9 280 is 550 watt if you OC the processor and GPU then i would recommend a 650 watt psu on the safe side.

I like some of the other builds as well.

The dual core non hyperthreaded build with the 280 is a lil too gpu heavy.

Great performance without the added explosion fun of some of the PSU's mentioned....

You will be able to oc your cpu with this psu and do it only when you will buy a good cooler. For now dont oc it. You will be able to play most games from medium to ultra settings. here's the link

That's not an R9 290 you've linked to it's an R9 270 and there are MUCH better PSU's available for the price like the XFX 550W and the Rosewill Capstone 650W

sorry I wrote it by mistake and dual x 290 is not there

this is perfect
