Want a gaming pc, but have no idea where to start

Hi all.

I'm looking to buy a gaming pc but know absolutely nothing about building my own etc. I have looked at websites such as Aria and Overclockers. I find these good but am still not sure what's good and what's bad. I want the best pc I can get for my money for gaming purposes. My budget is £800 for the tower itself (i have monitors, accessories etc for now). Preferably I'd want windows 7 as its seems cheaper and i dont like windows 8 (shock horror)


Any advice? Screenshots would be helpful of websites and deals adviced

you Could go for a cheaper cpu and mobo to get a gtx 780 or maybe a r9 290!!!

Correct man.get a fx 8320 or 8350 Then get a soild mobo like anything good 990 chipset..then you should be able to get a r9 290 or gtx 780

Dude my friend got 2 R9 270 and i got a sapphire r9 290 ... Bdw he is getting more fps in some case but xfire can cause snme probalem.

I had a very diffearent and crazy setup now
i have a fx 6300 And sapphire r9 290 ..belive me it's quite good

Why post a straight up Intel/nvidia build what if the op wants to rock an AMD build? lol

And what if he does not your point ? I post what i think is the best investment just because you think amd is better does not mean everyone will think the same.

And then compare power draw of nvidia/intel to amd/amd just because you save $50 today does not mean you wont pay it in electricity bills.
