I am planning on building a computer, and want to use the new nvidia 295 gpu, with the nvidia 750i mobo. The CPU i want is the Intel core 2 quad 3.0GHz(http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4089666&CatId=1969), but will it work okay with the graphics? (I know the 295 is a beast) If u know a better CPU, please post, but i don't want to spend more than about $400(although i would spend more if it was really necessary)
-Thnx!

I know its over 500, but i don't plan to build the system for a few months, and hope the price comes down. I don't really want to spend 500 for a graphics card either.
Also, what is the difference between say, an i7 @ 2.88GHz and a Core 2 Quad @ 2.88Ghz?

That CPU should be okay, altho you might want to overlclock it to gain more performance in games and such.

@ eded333 : You can't run a Core i7 on a Nvidia 750i motherboard. That's LGA775. A new motherboard, ram, and a PSU would probably need to be upgraded as well.

What is your PSU?

I don't know yet, honestly. Any recommendations for either the PSU, RAM, or mobo?
