Asus h97-pro motherboard
G-skill ripjaws 2×4 gb ddr3
Wd blue 1 tb
Corsair cx600 PSU
Nzxt s340
Dell s2240l

Get a better quality PSU

For GTX 970 you dont need 750w-800w PSU good quality 500w+ PSU from Tier 1 or 2 will be fine

600 W should be fine for a 970.

Yes 600w PSU he picked would be enough but is not good quality.

If he is from USA he can get better quality PSU for less :
