Hello , how much performance gain will I really notice if I upgrade my video card , currently Asus v7700 , GF2 GTS 64mb , considering GF4 4600 128mb
using ,1.1g athlon 200 fsb, kt133a asus board , 256mb pc133 mem., maxtor 40 g 7200 drive , yamaha 3200e cdrw
I mostly play action games
any real world difference you think ??

IMO upgrading just the Graphics card will not achieve great things. I can be wrong but i think your general system will be bottleneck for a high-performance. So you better upgrade your whole system.

Try running your games at the lowest resolution you can, that will represent the maximum frame rate possible with ANY graphics card with your current cpu (cpu limited frameate). Now, if you buy a ti 4600, you will beable to see this framerate at higher resolution, find a balance between being cpu limited and gpu limited to make best use of your hardware.

For that system, the Ti4600 would practically be useless. The R8500 or Ti4200 would be a much better choice, with the Ti4200 being pretty bottlenecked also.

ok,but even if it is it will boost the gamingperformance very much so he can go for the ti4600 anyway,and he can upgrade chip and cpu later on.

have fun,be lucky

Or he can get either a R8500/Ti4200 now, and upgrade next summer, and get a Prescott/Hammer with NV35/R350...
