Hi guys! I want to buy a Noctua NH-D15 but it's not going to fit on my current case (aerocool aero 800) so I don't know if I should buy it and leave the side panel off until I can get new case, probably the Fractal Meshify C but I don't have the money for both atm, also the aerocool is kinda new so it's a shame to throw it so early. Anyway I want the Noctua to be installed before summer because the temps last summer in Spain were a pain in the a** and I don't want to deal with them again. My current CPU cooler is a CM Hyper TX3i.
What do you think? It's Ok to keep the side panel off for some months?

You can keep sidepanel as much as you want (just dust will come in). Well if its soo hot in Spain during summer, neither CPU (fan based) cooler will help you. You need watercooling, it will help you if you don't run machine more than 8h-12h (cause water keeps warmer more than copper based fan).

Umm don't you have air conditioning?

just give in to the dark side and get :Nofan CR-100A IcePipe 100W Fanless CPU Cooler, no need for a case cover with this puppy :)

I don't want water cooling. Usually I'm running the pc more than 8h-12h... I felt that my cooler and the poor airflow of the stock case fans plus the air conditioning weren't enough cause I kept getting shut downs after playing a while. That's why I looked for NH-D15, the king of air. First I thought about buying couple Noctua fans NF-F12 or NF-A14 but they worth 20-25€ each so maybe is a waste if I will end up buying the NH-D15 and a new case.

Mmmmm maybe i'll keep using air coolers for now... that thing is not for me. I'm just worried about using a big CPU air cooler with the side panel open. Anyway thanks for showing me the dark side of coolers

My case has one front fan and one rear but they're just not very good. I looked for the TDP of the NH-D15 and it's correct for my 7700k even overclocking. Water cooling may be ok but it's expensive, the leaks, the maintenance, pump problems... not for me. Anyway thank you for your help :wahoo:
