Hey everyone, I'm planning on building a computer relatively soon. I'm somewhat tech savvy, but I've only recently gained an interest in computers. This PC will be used mostly for gaming, and moderate photo/video editing. I've done a decent amount of research on all of the components, but i thought i should get the input of other enthusiasts. Here's the link to my pcpartpicker list: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/pzL7JV

Side Note: Not all parts are present, I'll be using my HDD from my previous build.

Thanks for taking a look!

a better rig for ur video editing tasks. gaming perf should be almost the same :

Could you give me an explanation on why you picked those parts, if not that's all good. Thank you for taking your time to answer my post.

gaming wise, the intel has a slight edge. but future game engines and DX12 will change that. the ryzen 1600 with 6c/12t will be considerably faster than the 4c/4t[c=cores t=threads] in video editing[cpu intensive task].
ryzen benefits from high speed rams, so a 3000mhz one. that gtx 1080 is an overkill if its a 1080p 60hz monitor, better scale down to a rx580 4gb like the asus dual rx580. go for 1080 or 1070 if ur monitor is a 144hz one.
