Want to access HDD over Wi-Fi

I have an external HDD that I want to access via wifi. It's connected to my desktop and I want it to be broadcast over the network to be able to access it on my laptop. My router doesn't have built in USB or I would just use that.

You could set up a homegroup to share it, or you can turn on sharing for the hdd (right click on it in file explorer choose share with > sharing tab > advanced sharing)
