Hi everyone!
I'm trying to add a subwoofer to my current 2.0 setup. I'm thinking on buying Polk PSW10, as per the reviews I've checked it's a pretty decent quality per dollar spent device and I can't blow my house so that should be enough.
I'm a Tech House and Techno DJ and usually practice and record sessions in my room so I'm looking for a bit more of projection in the low end, I don't think I can achieve that by upgrading my 2.0 system so want to include a sub into the family, I'm having some questions when it comes to connections.
My 2.0 system has one active speaker with a speaker cable output which goes to another passive speaker also it has 2 RCA inputs, one is currently connected from my PC 3.5 jack to RCA terminal, no outputs from the speakers. If i would like to add this subwoofer to the system, what would be the best way ?
I'm thinking on getting a 3.5 to RCA from my soundcard C/SW output to the subwoofer line input then another cable from the L/R speaker output in my soundcard to the speakers. Would this be fine with that subwoofer? I can equalize the speakers to get some better highs/mids once the sub is on.
Also my DJ controller has a TRS balanced master output, a RCA unbalanced master output and a RCA balanced booth output, how can I manage to connect all to the new '2.1' setup? Should split the master output into RCA's to both the sub line in and the speakers input ?
I don't see any logical challenges in doing so, but I'm talking from the inexperience here. Let me know what are your thoughts.
Regards,
