Want to add ram to laptop

I want to make sure I get the correct ram for my laptop which has an extra slot to add more ram.

It says it has 8 gb ddr3

Get and install Speecy on your laptop. Look for EXACT RAM model/brand and buy the exact same one. A random DDR3 will not work (you can try though)

Speecy says I have 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 (11-11-11-28)

Hmm I think speecy doesn't actaully provide you info about what model you are having exactly so you might have to get inside it to check for

Run Crucial Memory's system scanner, it will tell you how much you have, how much you can have and suggest some upgrades if any available.

It wont tell you which stick you need to get though if you want to upgrade. You need to manually look inside your laptop
