I want to make video editing computer and will be using Adobe Premiere Pro. I've got a mid budget and I want the most out of the bucks. I will also use this for some gaming (not too fancy, optional). What are my best choices?

I already made up my mind with Core i7 3770K processor. Should I go for a single 8GB(1600 BUS) RAM, or two 4GB Corsair VENGEANCE? I'm thinking about a Z77 motherboard but not sure about ASUS or ASRock. For GPU, I'm considering a 650Ti but not sure about the company. I'm definitely taking a 2TB Western Digital HDD. Totally lost about the cooling system. Also I'll be taking a 21.5" DELL with IPS panel monitor.

Am I going the right way?

Okay, an I7 will be a good choice for the tasks you need (high processing)

Please please please go for two 4gbs so they work in dual channel support (extra performance)

the motherboard depends, do you want to OC the cpu? if not then there are good cheaper ones (that dont allow for OCing) tho if you ever do (which you prob wont need to) then go for the asus, because i just pref themm, no real reason :p

Cooling, il chuck you a few options, if you go the cash, and want it nice and quite then go for something like the H100i (liquid cooler) but because you will be using alot of processing, it will heat up so a good CPU cooler is needed, something like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooler-Master-Hyper-212-Plus/dp/B002G1YPH0 will be PERFECT :p...

(AND buy some good thermal paste! Artic 5 is the one most use)

okay, im not sure how big you're actually budget is in numbers but if you want a decent graphics card, a 650ti is good, though for me they are like 150 pounds, but if you UK you may LOVE this deal, ( i got one :D) a Very good card for a VERY good price!! http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/XFX+DD+Radeon+HD+7870+GHz+Edition+%28Tahiti+LE%29+2GB+GDDR5+Graphics+Card+%5BFX-787A-CNAC%5D+%2B+4+FREE+GAMES%21+?productId=55140

thats my answer thrown together within 5 mins but yeah hope i helped you out somehow and im sure there will be others who disagree etc but thats my thoughts.

I do a bit of video rendering using sony vegas (well i say that, but tbh its so over complicated i end up going back to crappy but simple nero) using an i5-2400 and have always been pleased with the speed, so that i7 should be superb for what you want, and that's the thing, its a massively cpu intensive task, so your right to stick your money on the processor, along with 2 x 4gb ddr3 as oi oi suggests.
As for the gpu, that offer on the 7870 looks GOOD, but unless your into games big time i would go for a cheaper card, for me the 7870 is a high-end card for proper gamers, if your just a casual gamer then the hd 7770, in this system will still play the games around now on high/ultra settings no problem for half the price.
However, if you do decide between the 650ti and the 7870, then i'm with oi oi all the way there, its an absolute no brainer.
Just my opinion, but i would go with a cheaper card and use the money on an ssd, they are soooo much faster than a traditional drive, then use the 2tb to store all those videos.
As for cooling, the i-series chips tend to run pretty cool, i stuck a cheap 10 quid after market cooler on my i5 until i could afford something better, but temps, even when rendering never get above low 40's.

Thanks oi oi,
you did a massive help!

yeah! im also leaning towards two 4gbs because i was drooling over the VENGEANCE! but also im thinking that in the long run, i will have two slots left which leaves me with two other 4gbs. so if i take 1 8gb, then later i can buy 3 other 8gbs which gives me 32gb! what's your thought on this one ?

im going with the OC because i dont know if i'll really need it, but want to be prepared for it :)
so yah i think ASUS is good, but ASRock is cheaper for me. will the performance vary that much?

im going with the cooler master, thanks a lot ! :D

and for the GPU, i dont think i want to go with Radeon because i've heard and read that Nvidia is a better choice for editing.

and again i really appreciate your answer ...

Concerning the RAM, i would suggest getting 2 4gbs now and when you can afford 32gb, buy it all as one so you have the same brand and the same speeds for all, so it will runs very smooth together.

I agree with the motherboard choice, if Asrock is cheaper go for it, im sure there wont be too much of a difference! and a good choice, that way you cant be fully ready if you ever do wish to OC, so that saves you from buying a new one.

I personally dont do editing but if the reviews say Nvidia are best for it, then go for it! i just prefer AMD GPU's

hope it all works out!

Oi.
