Recently, I have been getting the itch to build a new computer. This would be my first gaming rig, the other PC I built was mainly for light office use. My aspirations for this build would be for games, home entertainment (7.1 surround sound) and light video and sound editing (fruity loops). Sound editing is my main ambition, but i am the lever under beginner/noob. Should i get an 4690k or a 4790k? Also the main mobo i want is a Asus z97 pro wifi ac. Any thought on that part as well would be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

p.s. This is my first post on this site, so if i did anything "taboo" let me know.

Actually, a quad core is MORE THAN ENOUGH for light editing or multitasking, you'd not need i7 unless you're pro into the stuff or have some really great multi core optmized softwares, and if you did fill that criteria, you'd probably not need to ask.

i5 is more than fine for some good level of video editing and music editing.
