Want to build gaming PC with core i5

Hey, this is my first post on TH
Anyways, I want o build a GAMING PC with intel Core i5 processor but my budget is low..it's only 25000 INR.
I wanna play all latest game & I can manage with lowest-moderate settings in them.

I'll be buying my new PC within a month or 2. Pls suggest me some build nice build.

SLI or Crossfire is using multiple graphics cards. Doesn't fit in your budget, anyway, and if you don't know what it is, don't do it.

Look man... Core i5-2400 is Rs. 9500 or so in India. That's a third of your budget. You also need RAM, graphics card and a motherboard; and a decent case to cool them. Oh yeah, an HDD and a DVD drive. Have a case, you say? Which model?

Here, a sample i5 build:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2310 (2.9 GHz, 6MB cache) - Rs. 9400

Motherboard: Asus P8H67-M-LE - Rs. 6430

RAM: Corsair 1333 MHz 2x4GB - Rs. 3240

Graphics card: MSI Radeon HD5770 - Rs. 7400

PSU: Corsair 550W Rs. 4995

Oops... Rs. 31665 (if I remembered it precisely enough after closing the calculator, lol) and I didn't even include HDD, case, DVD drive and we're already out of budget. Maybe you'll drop to an i3 now? I don't think you need an i5 in your case - your GPU will bottleneck it.

And that's assuming the prices in your area are the same as on that website (and that's the lowest I've found in India so far). Still want an i5?

That website demands a lot more money than what the parts actually cost in local shops here in India.

I can suggest you a build :

Processor : Intel Core i3 2100 - Rs. 5100
Motherboard : ASRock H61M-GE - Rs. 3100
RAM : 2x4GB DDR3 1333 Gskill Ripjaws - Rs. 2300
Graphics : Asus Radeon HD6850 1GB DDR5 - Rs. 9500
Hard Disk : Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB - Rs. Rs. 2800
Optical Drive : LG SATA 24X DVD R/W - Rs. 900
Power Supply : Corsair CX500 V2 - Rs. 3100
Case : You already have

Total : Rs. 26,800 plus VAT at 4%. (Rs. 1072)
So, Rs. 27,872 after taxes.

Some suggestions I can give you :

1. Never listen to the Indian Shopkeepers. They know nothing and always misguide you. When I went to a shop to buy a PSU, they were trying hard to sell me a CoolerMaster GX Series PSU just because they'll get more commissions from CM than Corsair.

2. Never let those shop mechanics assemble the parts. They ruin them in most cases. They should handle nothing more than a pentium 4 machine. Get someone efficient in assembling PC parts.

3. Try to get the Corsair CX 500 V2. The shopkeepers will probably sell you a V1 with no 80+ certification and 1yr less warranty, just like they sold me mine.

This build will play new games pretty well. Atleast, better than a i5 + HD 5670 or 5770.

Huh. I guess South India prices don't apply in North India. That site is actually a lot cheaper than my "local store". Do you know any better sites by chance?

EDIT: Forgot to add, your build is indeed better; disregard mine Though, his case might not be the best - most likely one of these junk cases that are all over the place here.

I don't know if the prices are higher in South India.

He can squeeze in a case in that build, too, as it'll still fit in his budget. (30K)

I'd recommend a CM HAF 912 or Rosewill Challenger Black. Both cost around 3,000rs

I've got 1 question, How can an i3 machine beat an i5 machine ? Core i5 is supposed to be better than Core i3.. also i3 lacks hyper threading, how come it is better than i5 ??

Wrong info bro.

Its i3 which has hyperthreading and i5 which lacks it.

Anyways, in your budget if you buy an i5, you'll have to get a poor GPU. GPU is what matters the most in games. So an i3 + good GPU will beat i5 + bad GPU.

Also what do you think.. Intel or AMD PC, you know coz AMD is cheaper..so today my friend confused me b'w AMD and Intel..what do you think ??

You can get the AMD Quad Core Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition within 6,000Rs. But actually the i3 2100 outperforms it in games because of its newer architecture. It also consumes lesser power and produces less heat.
