Currently run dual screen, 22" Samsung SM 226BW and 17" Iiyama Prolite 421S

Want to upgrade the 17" to a 24/26" (so the 22" becomes the second screen).

Need something decent.

£100 - 300 (cheaper preferred)

Can you suggest a 24-26" monitor.

Would my HD 4870 1GB be able to handle games on a 26" monitor?

Cheers

Resolution is what counts in terms of graphics quality, desktop size, and performance hit on your graphics card. 24" monitors are mostly 1080P and so are 26" monitors

I would go for a BenQ VW2420. Its a 24" 8-bit A-MVA panel @ 3000:1 contrast with LED backlight.

The ASUS VW246H ( $219.99 USD or ~138.00 GBP) has been a Newegg.com "Customer Choice Award" winner five times in the past year. I purchased the VK246H model (adds a webcam) a year ago; great performance and no problems. See links:

Assuming you're in London, I'm not sure if this product is even available to you; not to mention at these prices. These monitors are available from Amazon.com as well and at similar prices. The price has only dropped $20.00 USD or ~ 12.5 GBP from 1 year ago.

Hope this helps.

Exchange rates don't reflect prices. It's £220 over here - but looks reasonably nice.

Is it still worth it?

Anyone had experience with the newer IIyama monitors?
