Want to buy gaming/animation computer?

Hi! I'm interested in PC gaming and 2D/3D animation. I'm not quite "savvy" in the ways of computers, but I want a computer that'll support my games anywhere from Minecraft to Metal Gear, or more powerful games. The same with my art programs. I'd like something affordable like 500, but I'll go upwards to a $1000. Anyone have any advice?

I'm not really a gamer but I have a Lenovo Y40 14-inch laptop. It has a 4th gen core i7 3.10gHz, has a full co lour back-light keyboard, 8gb of ram so that's pretty good, it comes with a 1tb hard-drive and also 8gb solid state drive. Your probably thinking this is expensive, nope it's not really you could get this laptop for $649.
