Want to change processor

Currently I am using Phenom X 2 55O BE on my Gigabyte GA MA 78 us2h mother board with GTS 450 graphic card.
I want to shift for better processor for gaming purpose.
Please suggest which processor will be best for this motherboard.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition will be the best cpu for that mobo, it supports that cpu if you flash the bios : http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2995#bios

You'll need the F3 update.

You'll see a link on the right side that says CPU SUPPORT which lists all the cpu's you can use and the level the minimum bios level needed to run it. This shows us that you pretty much can run any phenon II or athlonII cpu right up to the rare 140w version of the 965

You cannot use any of the newer processors like the FX series.

In this case few more questions :-
1. will I get better gaming performance by switching to GTX 650 2 gb card or by replacing phenom 550 with Phenom II X4 965 BE.
2. Now if you advice for GTX 650 and it has PCI-E 3.0 Bus Standard. but my MB has PCE-E 2.0 bus standard. so whether it will fit in it?
