Want to go from US Robotics 56K modem to WiFi so I can "dial" into modem and connect to dial up connection to control system.
system now; controller connects to proprietary comm module, comm module thru phone line connects to 56k US R modem that connects to analog phone line. Modem on pc end the pc calls US R modem and program connects with controller.

Desired connection; controller connects to proprietary comm module, comm module thru phone line connects to 56k US R modem connects to WiFi Modem with phoneline. WiFi modem connects to existing WiFi network. On pc end connects US R modem thru the wifi router and program connects with controller.

or another way to say it is I want to connect to a phone line modem thru the internet, there is a wifi network available, is this possible thru hardware?

Are both of the modems external modems?

If I understand you correctly, you have a phone connection to connect from one location (PC) to another location (Control Unit). Now you would like to connect to WiFi and thus use the internet to connect the two, right?

I think the USR modem has a phone line coming in and then connects via the serial port to your control unit, right?

As for the connection to the wifi, I think this is what you are looking for. It will take the place of the USR modem where the control unit is.
