Want to Install PATA DVD Drive in SATA Motherboard. Need help.

So I have an old PATA DVD drive. I want to install it. The only problem is that my motherboard is SATA. I've been looking for an adapter but have been unable to find one thus far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Be easier to buy a new SATA drive. They're only $20 on Newegg. The adapters can be iffy.

Just buy a new SATA drive; you can find one for about the same price as what you'd find an adapter for.

A better option than the adapter would be a PCI card with PATA. What will this drive be used for, though? A new SATA drive will offer better performance.

edit - OOPS, didn't see it was a DVD drive (thought it was hdd). yeah, a new DVD burner is about $20

You could get a PATA - PCI-E adapter card for $20 and it probably works
or
You could get a new SATA DVD drive for $15 and it will work

Just gonna reply to the last one since you all said basically the same thing. Yeah, if it's gonna be a problem I just won't use. I don't actually need a second drive, I already have one. The only reason I wanted to stick this one in there is because someone gave it to me and I was like "Well, hell, I have it, I might as well install it." So if anyone DOES know of a cheap adapter I could buy then let me know but if not, it's no big deal.

Well... It was exactly "given" to me. Rather, I was in class and we were taking apart all the old computers because they're basically worthless by this point and the instructor told us we could take whatever we wanted so I took some old junk stuff. On that note, I DO have another question... Floppy drive. I took two of those as well. What would it take to get one working on my SATA mobo?

Well then. Here is a USB external that is almost certainly easier and cheaper than finding something direct on the motherboard.
