Hi, I want to mine with my GTX 1060 3gb. I am looking for a coin that has a really low difficulty but is not dead and that does not pull so much power from my gpu. I am looking forward to mine many coins in short periods of time. Also I am new to mining and I would appreciate if you could tell me what software to get, what wallet, what gpu settings to use, etc. I am not looking forward to spending to much money on electricity or wallets. Another thing is that I don't want to lose money in this operation. I am using a core i3 8100, 8 gigs of ddr4 ram, 1tb hard drive 7.2K RPM, a CX750M psu, and of course that GTX 1060 3gb. I have really good airflow throughout my computer; 2 intake and 2 outtake. Thanks.

I wouldn't bother, mining on that scale is more hassle than it's worth. Even if you make a profit it won't be significant. If power is very cheap where you are it might make you a little bit here and there, maybe. Personally I think trading coins is more likely to make money than mining them.

I went as far as building two dedicated mining rigs when litecoin first started making the news. Made some ok returns for a couple of months but by the time 6 months had passed power was costing more than I was making and I never made a profit. I sold all the gear and took a small loss.

In order to mine successfully on graphics cards you need a crystal ball, you have to get in early and pick the coins that are going to take off somehow. By the time something like litecoin or more recently ethereum makes the news because people are getting good returns and the price is doing well it's already probably too late. The network difficulty raises very quickly once a coin becomes popular and the big players jump in with dedicated hardware.

if you have to ask about what equipment to get and how to do it, you have no idea what your doing. do some more research first. we can help you with your computer problems with your rig but telling you what to buy and set it up and the websites involved is a individuals choice based on financial research and costs.

I think you're going about this backwards. You are saying you want to mine with what you have. Okay, but how do you know you can make money with that system? You are assuming you can.

I think what you should do is more research on cryptocurrency. What mining makes the most sense for you? What kind of setup would you need for that mining? Until you can answer those questions, you're not ready for mining.
