I'm not sure if there's a way to do this, but basically I have my TV hooked up to my computer and I have a separate computer monitor as well. I was wondering if there was a way to get both TV and computer monitor to play the sound of whatever is on that specific monitor, and that sound only.

i.e. say I have a game running on my computer monitor, but a movie playing on my TV through my computer. Is there a way that I can have my headphones play the game sound, and my TV play the movie through the TV speakers without having either interfere with the other?

Bump!!!!! I was about to make a thread about this exact same thing.... Accept my wife likes to stream tv shows on the tv while I am gaming and I cannot use my headset to talk to my buddies or let my games play any sound while she is watching tv (Always!!)

To my knowledge there is no functionality in Windows to output to multiple audio devices while separating audio sources. You pretty much need separate computers/devices.
If your wife has a laptop or something, maybe hook that up to the TV.
