Hi, am I able to use ASUS that is based on ATX form factor, and yet keep the rest of my components unchanged?
May I know if my budget is 100 and below, do I still have any options that is worth consideration? Most importantly is on par or slightly better than h61m-hvgs and I dont need to change any other components. as i just need to use this for another 2 or 3 years and i will probably get a new system. Thanks , really appreciate all your answers.
The main difference between an ATX and micro-Atx motherboard is in their physical dimensions. An ATX board is around 2.5 inches longer. So if your case has enough room to hold an ATX board you are good to go. All of your existing components would fit in an ATX board just fine. No worries.
All of the three boards I mentioned in my previous post are better than your current H61m Asrock board. They are based on H77 chipset which provides more features than H61 chipset like: more RAM slots, Usb 3.0 and SATA 6 gbps ports for faster connectivity, multi GPU support etc.
If you want to stay within 100 USD then get either Gigabyte or the ASRock board I mentioned. These three are they best I could find, There are a few cheaper board but you may run into a compatibility issue with them.
