Want to upgrade graphics card, but I dont know what is compatible with current set up.
AMD FX-6300 processor, 16GB system memory, 1TB hard drive, geforce gtx 1050ti, nex 650g powersupply, Gigabyte Ga-78LMT-USB3 (motherboard).
I just got a vive and I know my processor is also lacking for it as well, but any suggestions on how to upgrade either graphics mainly but cpu as well would be nice.
Too afraid to change motherboard. Dont have any skills for that. I have only put in power supply and graphics cards before.
My price range is 400 or less for any step up from my current gpu.

Gtx 1660Ti is just shy of 1070 performance, like 5% difference iirc., if it saves you a few more bucks.

The only thing I can think of is your motherboard is still using BIOS instead of UEFI and some cards don't seem to work in BIOS anymore so maybe ask the manufacturer (evga, msi, gigabyte...) before buying a 1660Ti.
You can get a good 1070 or 1070 Ti for that price and it will still be compatible PCIe wise. I believe your platform is PCIe 3 and the GPU is definitely PCIe 3. So you're going to be able to use the card's whole potential.
