Question Want to upgrade HDD to SSD on HP Z440 WorkStation need help choosing the right SSD.

Does this mother board has M.2 slot for SSD installation? If so which one is it? What kind of SSDs can I install on this computer? Thanks.

There is no M.2 port in that picture.

A 2.5" format SATA III SSD will work just fine, as a replacement for the existing HDD.

Questions: on Ali express site and some other sides I see 2.5 SATAs for considerable cheaper than Amazon. Are they worth buying? Do they come with the wire from drive to motherboard?
Second question I have read that there are adapters to change ports to M.2 would such adapters work in my case and would they still allow the movement of data at the rate drives were designed for?

1. They are cheap for a reason. Offbrand junk. I wouldn't use one if it were free.
Look for Samsung, Crucial, WD, SanDisk.

2. No. A motherboard old enough to lack a dedicated M.2 port is unlikely to be able to boot from an M.2 drive in a PCIe slot adapter.
