Hi guys.I have 2008 pc with Foxconn P43A01 motherboard with 350W PSU Wondering if i can put this things on it

Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q9650
Corsair 4gb DIMM 800Mhz Pc2-6400
Nvidia Geforce gtx650ti
As far as I know, this should work but wanted to make sure.
Thanks in advance.

Solution

The 350W PSU is not enough for the gtx 650ti. Here is PSU requirements for GPUs http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm

You can also use PCPartPicker.com or a wattage calculator to get the exact needed wattage.

So what is the best graphics card I can run with my psu, my budget is limited so something will miss anyways. I also decided to go with Intel Xeon 5450. Is that okay with my motherboard ?

you sure want to get a server oriented processor? but either way, the socket is different, so you cant.

PSU power should be only around 90% of the mentioned watt. and you have to count for HDD, MB, RAM, etc. too

with 350w I think GTX 750 Ti is your best bet, or a newer GT 1030, though its performance is somewhat lower than GTX 650 Ti, but from my place here, GT 1030 is somewhat cheaper than a GTX 650 Ti (new)

How will a psu damage components during a failure?
Not being sarcastic in anyway. I'm genuinely interested. I lost 3 psu through the years and never had an issue. Maybe just lucky..

Thanks for the links.
I'm very sceptical about the results of the psu damaging the equipment though. Sounds more like human error on both parts.
The weakest link in a psu are the capacitors. When they go, they pretty much open that circuit. Now something like a short across the 12 and 5 volts, that has some potential for damage, but even that is rare (imho). The psu isn't a sensitive instrument. At least not relative to the other components in the rig.
Definitely an interesting subject. You got my curiosity going. Think I'm going tear into one sometime this weekend, provided I can sneek awsy from the wife.
