[SOLVED] Want to upgrade RAM. Specific RAM compatibility question

I currently have 16GB (2x8)

G.Skill Trident Z silver/red DIMM kit 16GB, DDR4-3200, CL15-15-15-35 (F4-3200C15D-16GTZ)

installed in my system. I want to upgrade to 32GB but the exact same RAM are nowhere to be found. Only other similar RAM I found are 16GB (2x8)

From my initial research, I cannot find any difference apart form the color. My kit being silver / red and the other kit being silver / white. Can I use the silver / white to upgrade my RAM, or is there a potential problem if I do not take the exact same RAM?

Technically only difference between them is color of heatsink and slight gap in first word latency which doesn't matter. What does is that they have exact same timings and CL so they should work fine together. Keep in mind depending on ur cpu and motherboard you'll be able to get them working in 2x dual channel instead of quad.

Putting it as simple as can be quad is better, specially for cpus with large amount cores like AMD Threadrippers, Ryzen 9s or Intel Xeons and Core i9s. It spreads load between all physical and logical cores better which improves overall stability and heat distribution.
Don't fret if your rig doesn't support it though, it's not a huge deal unless you are pursuing the absolute possible max, comparing dual vs quad in everyday gaming will get you around 5-10 fps more in favor of quad in titles that are more cpu heavy.
