CPU: Intel Core i7-10700
iGPU: UHD Graphics 630
dGPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060
Motherboard: B460M DS3H AC
Drive: SAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD 2TB PCIe 4.0
PSU: CORSAIR - CX-M Series CX750M

I want to upgrade my RAM to 32 GB.... but also increase memory speed. I currently have XPG Z1 DDR4 3000MHz (PC4 24000) 16GB ...
Looking at Corsair VENGEANCE LPX DDR4 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz CL18 Intel XMP 2.0
Will I be able to run at 3600 MHz if my bios is updated to Feb 2024? some say I'll only get 3200 MHz.

Edit: oh, and I know the website says, "Intel® Core™ i9/i7 processors:
Support for DDR4 2933/2666/2400/2133 MHz memory modules

Ypur mboard says around 3000. Turn off xmp. If you unlock your manual ram settings, you can test small increments and save then reboot to see what works. You will defs know when its gone too far. Crash on boot or freeze or crash within windows. If you find a setting that works then put it under load with utility software. I have overclocked 2600 ddr4 to safely run at around 3200 without a glitch. Ram timings and slight voltage adjustments may be needed. Obviously looser timings are needed the higher you push it and may need a little bit more voltage. Small increments is the key !!!

B460 relies on memory controller in cpu so a maximum of 2933 for i7 10700. Z490 doesn't follow same restrictions. Intel changed XMP restrictions with B chipsets following B560 series where you can run XMP above cpu memory controller.
