Hello everyone

first of all i live in Argentina, so prices are wild and i cant get my hands into anything

this is my current build:

i7 3770
12gb ram ddr3
1050ti
500gb ssd
750w xfx

i want to upgrade

My main use is for work, so i was thinking on upgrading mother + micro + ram fisrt

This are my options:

budget:
Ryzen 2600
i3 10100 // i5 8600

What i want:
i5 10400
Ryzen 5 3600 // Ryzen 5500

So my main question is what would you choose between these two pair of options. If i am short 2600 vs 10100, and if i get the money 10400 vs 3600 // 5500 ?

my second question is: would i benefit from strectching to a Ryzen 5600 ? there is not much difference

I mainly use my pc as a data analyst: Excel, Power Bi, Python.
And general esport gaming, rocket league, lol, world of warhips.

thanks in advance for any help tip or recommendation

This is the psu

It has over 8 years
It has been holding this rig but with a GTX 770 till last year when she passed to a better place. RIP (I still miss her, 5% better than the 1050ti)

It is a very good psu, if I recall correctly it is based on a sunflower psu. Hard ocp or another reviewer like that had that info, but couldn't find the good review

Here is a thought or two on this.

The 3770 is still strong enough IMO to be paired with a better graphics card than the 1050ti. I don't think it is strong enough to be a good pairing with one of the high end modern cards, and will probably leave a little on the table even in consideration of a more modern "60(x)" level card.

Add in a decent power supply that would be worthwhile on an upgrade to the main hardware and with the above graphics card choice in mind.

Find yourself a matched set of RAM so you can have dual channel.

The graphics card and the power supply will be something to keep when you upgrade more. The RAM will just help get the most out of the current CPU since it appears you have mismatched sticks now.

To get a sufficiently stronger processor, you will also need to buy a new motherboard and ram.
Let me list some passmark performance ratings:
I7-3770 8 6371/2074
R5-2600 12 13208/2254
I3-10100 8 8830/2637
I5-8600 6 9903/2585
I5-10400 12 12357/2593
R5-5500 12 19512/3053
The first number is the number of processing threads.
The second number is the performance rating when all threads are 100% busy like you might find in a multithreaded batch app.

The last number is the single thread performance rating.
Arguably the more important spec for gaming and desktop quickness.

You can look up the passmark rating for any other processors of interest.
What is the make/model of your motherboard?
CPU-Z will tell you.
Your motherboard support page will have a list of compatible cpu upgrades.
Likely, you will need a new motherboard.

Along with that, your DDR3 ram won't work and you will need new ram.
