Want to upgrade to ryzen from a sandy bridge

I am planning to upgrade my old pc having an Intel core i3 2100 to a Ryzen 5 which shall i go for 1400X or 1500??

I would suggest you upgrade to an i5 2500k (if motherboard will allow), you will get almost the same performance without having to replace motherboard and RAM.
