Hi all. I have had my eye on the 'Asus Maximus VIII Formula' for awhile now but I've just seen the msi z97 X power ac and now I don't know as I really like both. Any help

but then i may be restricted with the pci bays for crossfire. the armor is of no use when in a large chassis plus i personally think the armor is only for those that like it for cosmetic reasons. i know it adds some rigidness but once in, there shouldnt be a problem???

the asus MB restricts you to only 2 geforce GPU's where as you can have upto for on the MSI MB. my setup will consist of 4 monitors configured in a pyramid format and have one GPU per monitor hence why im swerving towards the larger MSI MB. and yes i know i dont really need 3 GPU but when we build pc's its all about want!

Well you should've mentioned that you're attaching a bunch of cards

Armour does help but then the motherboard you were considering itself isn't adequate for your needs so it doesn't make sense to get it.

PS. The LGA1150 platform is not the best for 3-way or 4-way SLI. That is because of only 20 true PCIe lanes available from the CPU, Haswell-E (LGA 2011-v3) is much better, performance wise.
