Wanting a New Graphics card that won't bottleneck my CPU

I've recently built a new Pc, and i don't have a great Gpu, and so i wanted to upgrade it, and i wanted something that could handle VR, if i wanted to do it in the future. I've done research but i'm afraid that i might not get the right ones.
Here Are my current specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K
GPU: NIVDIA Geforce GT 740
Ram: Corsair Dominator Platinum Series 32 GB
PSU: CX750M corsair
OS: Windows 10 64x
Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING Pro CARBON

You put that system together...with a GT 740?!?! I'm not in to VR but from the bits I've heard from people, something like an RX 480 8gb would be the minimum you'd want. Your system could handle a 1070 or 1080 as well. So it's all about your budget.

That Cpu will handle a Gtx 1080 even in SLI. So just buy whichever fits your budget
