My Spectrum router is connected to the cable modem located in the living room; I wasn’t there during initial set up. I’m wanting to move the router to the center of the house to get maximum coverage and one computer is not WiFi capatable anyway. I want to leave the cable box where it is currently. When I unplugged the Ethernet from the cable modem, everything stayed connected to the SSID but it wasn’t connected to the Internet. Is there something I’m missing? I do have another non-Spectrum router (Orbi) but I can’t connect that to the internet and for some reason, my home phone must be connected to the router as, apparently, there’s no such thing as LANs anymore.
What, if it is possible, can I do to move the router and still be able to connect to the internet? I’m not exactly tech savvy by the way. I’d be forever grateful to any and all help. And hopefully, this way we can help another poor soul who’s having this problem too.
