So this build is about 6-7 years old (if that matters) and I want to sell it if possible. Specs is listed below:

CPU: Intel core i7 – 2600k 3.4 GHz socket 1155

Motherboard – ASUS P8z68 – V LE LGA 1155 Intel z68 HDMI SATA 6GB/s ATX

GPU – AMD Radeon HD 7900 series GDDR5 3GB

RAM – Kingston HyperX 16GB (4x4GB) 1333Mhz 240 pin DDR3

SSD– Corsair Force 3 60GB

Internal HD – Seagate ST1000DM0003 1TB Barracuda 3’5 SATA 3

PSU – XFX PRO850W black edition 80+Silver Semi Modular

CPU Cooler – Corsair H80i hydro edition 120mm

OS: Windows 7

Since this is a very old build, I am not entirely sure how much I can sell it for. I've search the prices on the individual parts but came to more than $1000 AUD . Appreciate it if someone can help me set up a decent price for this rig.

Agreed. The 2600K is still quite capable. It was released in January 2011 ( I bought one ) and the Z68 chipset was released later that year so those parts are 6 years old at most.

$250-$300 for the CPU, motherboard, RAM and power supply gets someone a very capable base system. Throw in the cooler and the HDD for an even better deal. The 60GB SSD is almost worthless and the 7900 series doesn't tell me much. Is it a 7970Ghz Edition? 7950? They won't be worth much but you might get some interest. Just check ebay for prices.

If you look at some recent benchmarks that include Sandy Bridge vs Kaby Lake you will see there has only been about a 25% IPC increase on average. Meaning that if both chips are at the same clockspeed Kaby Lake ( i7 7700K ) is only about 25% faster. And 2600Ks could almost all do 4.8-5Ghz. I kept mine until about a year ago when I moved to this Skylake 6700K. I mostly made the move for motherboard features.

HardOCP just did that very comparison a couple of months ago showing just how well the 2600K holds up.

The 2600K is included in this review of the 7700K as well.

I was still on P67 or I probably would have waited another year. I can tell you that a 2600k at 4.5Ghz gives you about 5 fewer FPS average than a 6700K at 4.6Ghz using a 980 Ti at 1440p. There was very little difference.
