Wanting to upgrade motherboard and cpu

I have been wanting to upgrade my Motherboard and CPU for a while now because my current CPU is pretty slow and my motherboard doesn't the newer CPU's. I am interested in the i5 processors but I don't know what motherboard or CPU to get here is my specs at the moment.

CPU : AMD A6-6400K

Motherboard : Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. F2A55M-HD2 (P0)

Graphics : 2048MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series (ASUStek Computer Inc)

RAM : 8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-12-28)

also would I have to upgrade my power supply ?

You didn't mention your power supply so can't speak to that. You'll also need ram and a GPU, basically you'll be fully rebuilding at this point.do you have a budget in mind? A r5 1500x or 2500 might be a better fit
