Wanting to upgrade to HD 6950

I currently have two 4970 in crossfire, but after many driver issues with crossfire, heating, electricity bills, I want to switch to a single GPU card.

I was wondering if this card would be better than what I currently have:

Two choice:
Gigabyte 6950 1GB memory ($240) or
Sapphire 6950 Toxic ($290)

MSI 1GB Twin Forz 3 ($260) is good also but pick one of the top two first.

Get the gigabyte card. Better than saphhire, it is only 1GB but its shown to be same as 2GB as long as you dont have over 2200x whatever resolution. I have a xFSx 6950 2gb I'll sell you if you want, only 4 months old and runs flawless. I lookin to upgrade to a 6970. 😱 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125385

And a 6950 should perform about the same or better than your 4970 xfire.

I assume that the heat produce would be offesting the cost of heating your home xD.
I hate my computer on idle since it feels like an AC but once it is loaded (i start feeling the warmth).

Even on overclock, the performance of the 6950 it's not very different than my current CF setup?

And yeah... I just hate how loud are the fans, and mind you I have low noise fans but the card fans just get to annoying levels of loud, which seems to be from the top card sucking the heat of the lower one.

if your 6950 is running loud you have a poorly setup fan profile, just because the thing can cool like a monster doesnt mean it has to

and 2 gigs of memory is useful if u like texture modification, just because the industry standard in games doesnt typically take advantage of 2gb of video memory, doesnt mean YOU cant. also, yes, up until now *MOST* games show no difference, I dont know how much longer that will be true for.
