I was updating my BIOS to the latest one (from 2013) and the system crashed. After attempting to reboot, I received a problem statement saying that the BIOS recovery mode had been detected and that I should upload a version of the BIOS (CG8270.CAP) via a USB Stick. After having done so, nothing changed. The next step I attempted was to open up the PC and move the jumper cap from 1-2 to 2-3 for 10 seconds before undoing it and rebooting. I believe that was meant to clear my CMOS, however again, nothing happened. So finally I redid the process but removed the motherboard battery as well before moving the jumper cap. This again had no effect.
Since I am horrible with the technical terms (80% of what I just said came from Google today) I would like to ask for some support in fixing this problem but using simple terms.

Cheers

Solution
The BIOS chip may be dead. When you ran the USB BIOS update, it looked like it ran and worked? Unfortunately in most cases when the BIOS is corrupt you need to replace the motherboard.
Basically it started by me downloading the BIOS update file to then flash the BIOS. During that process it crashed and ever since then I have not gotten past the warning message. Since other feedback mentioned replacing only the BIOS chip, I was wondering if that works as well or if I really need a new mobo?

Thanks for your answer

If you can replace the BIOS chip it should work to fix it.
