WARNINIG! MS Updates deleting ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS

I've installed all the latest XP updates on several workstations and
the ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS feature is getting screwed-up.

It will show the first group of about (5) installed apps and then it is
blank.
You will have scroll all the way down the page and you find the others.
But there will be some that are not showing up.
This has happened on several of my PC's.
Has anyone else had this problem yet?

Hey Terry - I have just had exactly the same problem updating a Win XP Pro
system yesterday. It baffles me!

If it is one of the first five entries, like you are saying, it's probably
not one of the Windows updates that has the screwed up registry entry (well,
I'd be surprised if it was)

Excellent two articles there. I always wondered why the display icons in
Add\Remove always seemed to be so darn messed up. Thanks.

I had this prob, i found out it was electonic arts updater or somthing

Either way just go to registry and compare it with what actually shows up on
the add/remove prog list. If it is supposed to be where the blank is, then
delete the registry setting (export it first)

I fixed it!!!!!

I was in the wrong location.
I was in DISPLAYNAME looking for a -1, but it is DISPLAYICON.
