Warranties and 'used' CPUs

I was looking to pick up a cheap 3570k on Ebay, seller says the item is pulled from a new PC, tested but never used. No box or cooler.

Just wondering, if it were to die, am I pretty much screwed or would Intel do anything about it? Also is that overclock warranty thing Intel sell worth anything at all?

Intel won't do anything about that unfortunately, and I wouldn't buy a manufacturer warranty for a used CPU.
