what is this setup worth bearing in mind its second hand.

CPU - i7 920
Motherboard - ASUS P6X58D-E
Memory -6Gb Corsair XMS3
Graphics Card 1 - Zotac GTX275
Graphics Card 2 - Asus GTX580 (these cards are not in sli mode)
Hard Drive - 500GB F3 storage
Power Supply - Corsair AX850
Case - Corsair Obsidian 800D
CPU Cooler - Corsair H50
OS - Windows 7 Professional 64bit
Fan Controller - Lamptron touch screen
Total Number of Fans - 5
DVD Drive - Sony
Monitor 1- 24in Acer LED V243HLbmd
Monitor 2 - 17in Dell Monitor

This computer has maxed out every game I've thrown at it, for example, Battlefield 3, Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops, Assassins Creed Revelations, etc (These games are not included)

The power supply is one of the best quality PSU's on the market, this is corsair's top range.

The CPU is a quad core intel i7, can be overclocked to 3.8ghz and doesn't go about 75c with the Sealed liquid cooling system that's also been installed. The case is a full tower so make sure you have room for it, but it's by far the best looking case on the market.

There is a 500gb storage drive which is a Samsung F3.

In short, i've spent too much money on this machine, unless there is a dramatic change in IT equipment I expect this machine to last a good 2 or 3 years without any drastic upgrades being needed.

There are loads of fans but the fan controller really helps with this so you don't have to worry about it being noisy.

Please note, that there is one dead pixel on the 24inch Acer screen (this does not effect the performance and it is really hard to notice).

I could build something that would perform about the same or better for $1,000. So I would say no more than $1000.

The gtx275 has very little value there. Chances are it would actually slow down performance when running as a physics engine.

It would be good for folding@home though.

he wanted £300 for the gtx 580 when i asked about $450 is it worth more like £150/$225?

Ok, it's more like you're asking us how much you should offer to pay for it?

It's not a bad system if you can get it a good price.
Some over priced (more $$ than necessary) premium parts in there. Obsidian 800D / Corsair AX850 / Lamptron Fan Controller / GTX 580 for example. You could save enough among those three items choosing high quality alternates (GTX 570 vs GTX 580 for example) to buy yourself an excellent SSD boot drive.

Sorry for the big opening thread i copied that from an email he sent me and posted so every1 could see what he said and whether he was truthful or full of it lol.

so most of his machine is a good quality/performance build vs my build, which will be about same price if bought and built?

or do i mix and match parts?
