Was playing warcraft 3 on my PC at a LAN and the pc randomly restarted, now my gtx 580 isnt working, help?

Hello,
I was at a LAN on Friday playing away, when my PC suddenly restarted for no apparent reason, I sat there scratched my head and waited for the BIOS screen to come up. Nothing, just stayed a black screen, so I plug the screen into the onboard graphics to see whats up. This time everything starts normally.
I just ran tests with older video cards to see whether the PCIE port died, but it works fine.
The model is a MSI GTX580 Lighting, all the lights on it light up still and the pc runs normal with and without it plugged in.
I am lost whether there is something simple wrong, or whether the card is dead like I suspect.
Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Just to be safe, you could always take it to a friend and see if it works there, but that's just being delusional. My condolences...

Actually you had warning signs but they are subtle and won't see them unless you know what you're looking for.
