Was this a bad purchase? (2000+USD rig)

My potato self did this.
I'm a true noob with no hardware experience.
The rig is basically my Birthday gift and Christmas gift.

Is this a prebuilt or not? If you're building it yourself you are wasting money on the sound card, that is not a necessity, and that PSU is a bad choice. You can definitely get a much better PSU.

Also not that it's a bad case, but the Corsair 780T is quite large, you can definitely cut down on the case size since you don't really need a full tower.

If is already built with Windows 10 installed then that isn't a bad deal. Personally I wouldn't have got the sound card though.

I have had exceptional luck with Corsair PSU, even on the budget side. Never had one single issue with one.
Considering the cost for the CPU/GPU/RAM and the premium for prebuilt I don't feel you did too bad.

Its not a bad rig. I agree with g-unit111, you dont need a sound card and the PSU is not a good choice for the hardware.

But it is a high end rig and I hope you have a nice monitor to run it on as it can push one.

2TB 970 EVO - I would have split that into some other multiple drive config.
