I currently have a gf4 MX 440 and was thinking of picking up a sapphire radeon 9800 np or maybe a pro version. I was wondering how big the difference would be in the games I play now. Is the difference so big it justifies the $300 dollar purchase? I haven't been paying too close attention to the new vid cards on the market, so excuse the ignorance here.

Other than new egg, what sites sell that card. I found another site that sells the sapphire radeon 9800 np for 258, but can't remember the url =)

Oh well....any enlightenment would be great.

Thanks

The difference will kick your ass. I mean, really kick your ass.

You will experience not only smoother framerates, but at higher resolutions, and with antialiassing on to boot. Plus, you will for the first time be able to experience pixel and vertex shader effects for DirectX 8 and 9 games.

Breathtaking.

Although I've always bought at the second-to-highest tier. Never buy the most cutting edge video cards... in my opinion, 9800 pros and geforceFX 5900s are too expensive for the performance.

You'll get 90% of the performance for about 70% of the cash if you buy a Radeon 9700 or Radeon 9800 non-pro for $210 to $230. That's my recommendation.

Captain Obvious just HAS to respond to this post!

Why did you not ask "Whats faster? A clapped out combi van or a 2003 Porsche Turbo?"
