Was woundering about the price drop need help!!

ive been hearing so much about this price drop for cpu's.
and also herd the e8700 is comming out within days.
so my question is, will the q6600 drop, and if so by how much will it drop?

That processor has been holding it's value for the longest time. Don't hold your breath.........just buy it if you want it.

The q6600 wont drop any lower. It dont need to. It has the $$/performance crown in its bracket. Also I saw the price drop list and the q6600 was on there but listed as no change.

i been looking at it on new egg and it was like 188.99 but then it went to 194.99

Won't surprise me if the Q6600 goes up in price a little bit. It's EOL has been announced and I think its the only 65nm quad still around in quantity. Some motherboards don't support 45nm, so for some the move to quad will require either the Q6600 or a new motherboard.

Q8200 is cheaper than the Q6600, Q8300 is the same price, and a Q9400 won't cost much more, I don't see the need for purchasing a Q6600 if your motherboard supports 45nm quads.

go with a Q9xxx series. If you want to overclock and a great performing chip go with either the Q9550 or the Q9650 which should overclock higher becuase of it's multiplier.
