I'm ready to go Intel after this fiasco!!! Last time I buy from Monarch.
Intel because an online retailer sent you a hosed mobo? Calm down before you make that logical leap. Sounds like the etailer is at fault - not AMD. IIRC this was an RMA. Did the shipping documentation say anything about being a refurb? I would totally agree with the second statement - at least for your personnel needs. I've never dealt with Monarch before, but this is the first bad thing I've heard about them. Contact Monarch, tell them your situation and see how they respond. If they aren't helpful, then I would definitely recommend running it up the Supervisors as high as you have until you get the right response. Also, fill out one of the online surveys at something like Bizrate and tell them how you were treated.

Finally I'm getting somewhere, thanks in whole to Monarch Computers. I got a call today from one of their managers. They will accept shipping charges for both of the motherboards I have AND will have a new one (tested) delivered to me on Saturday!

HUGE KUDOS to this company for responding like professionals to a customer's dissatisfaction. I want to stress that the problem with the first board was NOT Monarch's fault, but they are treating it as their problem, which is what a great company would do. They will have to deal directly with the manufacturer about the poor packaging the manufacturer has.

I expect to get my new board tomorrow, then (God willing), I will finally be able to build my PC.

Still haven't heard from DFI about any steps they plan to take to make the packaging problems right. Unfortunately, the damage is reflecting poorly on the resellers like Monarch, Newegg, ZZF and others.

By the way, I got a response from Monarch once I posted my dissatisfaction with them on Resellerratings.com. This service is awesome. Kind of a Better Business Bureau for online etailing. I beat them up pretty good in my post there, they saw that and took the proper steps to make it right. I edited my post at Reseller, so as long as I get my board tomorrow , i am happy (finally).

By the way, the etailer was not at fault for the initial damaged board, DFI is at fault. Their packaging is sub standard and damaged boards are going to keep getting shipped out until they make it right. DON'T automatically blame the etailer OR FedEx for damage the the Ultra D as described in the first post above.

Email angry@dfi-street.com if your Ultra-D motherboard suffered damage similar to what is described at the top of this post. Sounds like DFI is getting ready to do something.
