Waste Proof vs Burn Proof

I've seen both used in drives mainly Waste proof in the yamaha burners and burn Proof in plextor drivers. What I want to know does anyone know the differences between them?
And or advantages and disadvantages?

Burn Proof was originally put as a trade mark. So Yamaha put forward the more-or-less the same technology with a new name.

The difference: Plextor generally has the reputation of making better drives.
