I am looking for a waterblock that will work with my GPU. I have the ASUS GTX660-DC2O-2GD5 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 660 2GB -
according To http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/step1_complist -From Ek- there are no plans to make a full vga cover and I would have to use a universal one.
also XSPC says to use the gtx 680 block- but it is not listed on there supported hardware.

One is this true- Does anyone know if there is a full vga cover out there?

Two- what is the down side with going with the universal- with the obvious being that I would have to air cool the ram.

Thank you for any help you can give.

Solution
Generally, the amount of water blocks made for any particular model drops the further you get down from the top of the line, the less options available. Titan - 780 Ti - 780 all use same blocks and are widely available, 770 less so..... 760 getting scarce.

The hottest thing on a GFX PCB is the VRM.....the best waterblocks (EK) have as much as a 30C difference than the worst WB (EVGA).

Rather then spend $150 on a 660 water block / backplate, I'd suggest trading up to a 770 / 780 where you will have more options.

I'm in a similar situation. I've got the same 660 and i'm looking at ways to get some more life out of it. Can't really sell off PC parts where I live, not too many of us that build our own systems. I was clicking around the EK site and they have the EK-FC670 GTX DCII which is compatible with both the GTX 670 and 660 from Asus. I see i'm about a month late on the post but for anyone else looking in the future, the option is available.
