So I have my 2080 ti vertically mounted, in afterburner it says the temps are in the low 70's but the backplate it HOOOTTT. I painted it white and love how it have it up so I want to keep it air cooled.

Anyway Is there anyway to attach a water block to the backplate? Maybe a custom block that uses backplate bolt patter just a bit longer? CPU is water cooled so it would just be one more stop in the loop.

1) Don't touch it with anything while it is operational. There is a potential for you to burn yourself as well as shorting the card by touching it while the system is powered on....this could be temporary as in a freeze/reboot or could cause additional damage. I've seen freezes/reboots first hand by a someone just touching his GPU and RAM while the system was running.

2) Again, hot to a human doesn't mean it is hot to a machine. An automobile engine is very hot for a human, but acceptable for the car.

3) Having good case airflow is the best way to combat thermal issues. If you have good airflow and nothing is overheating (example: temperatures above thermal capacity or recommended ceilings, not just 'hot to my fingers')

On no I'm not worried about the card, had a 970 blower style and ran in the high 80's for years still kicking in friends system. Was more of a something to tinker with.

No I don't touch anything that's "working" such as what you guys stated, what I feel that's hot is the back plate, covering all the important circuitry. Usually raised off pcb. Airflow is good but back doesnt get much do to the riser cable.
