Water cooler installation

So, i bought this nox hummer h240 cl watercooler but somehow i cant seem to install it correctly on my asus m5a97 r2.0 motherboard. The socket is am3+ wich is compatible with the cooler. I tried following the instructions but no success... can anyone please give me a hand here?

What is the exact issue?Can't get the standoffs to line up? Can't actually screw it down?
